For John and me, making the decision to move to Medellín, Colombia was easy (here’s our blog post on why we’re making the move). Now comes the bittersweet part. We’re gearing up to say goodbye to the fantastic friends we’ve made here (and twist their arms to come see us in Colombia!). And we’ve started planning to leave our house, which has been completely perfect for us.
We’ve always intended to rent our house, but we’ve only recently decided to list it for sale for a month or two “just to see what happens.” In a perfect world, we’ll find a cash buyer and we’ll be able to manage the transaction ourselves. That’s exactly what happened when we first purchased the house from the previous owners. A big shout-out to Ruth and Lou Dubec for not only making this great house available, but for making that purchase easier than we could have dreamed!
Here’s our hot-off-the-press online advertisement.
The good news is that, if the house doesn’t sell, we’re confident we’ll be able to rent it and we’ll still have a foot in the door in a market that we believe has tremendous future potential. We did some musing about that potential in our last post. And you just never know – we just might end up back in Boquete someday!
